Urine Culture

 

Urine culture is done to detect bacteria or germs that can cause infection in the urine. Urine in the bladder is normally sterile. This means that there are no organisms or fungi. Bacteria; It can enter the tube called urethra, which carries urine out of the body. Urinary bacteria means urinary tract infection.

 

Urinary infection is more common in women than in men. This is because the urinary tract of women is shorter and closer to the anus. Therefore, it is much easier for bacteria in the intestines to find ways to enter the urinary tract. Bacteria can find infection by raising the urethra into the bladder, ureters and kidneys.

 

Stool Test
